Commitment Ceremonies, Same Sex Couples

I consider a Commitment Ceremony to have the same value as a wedding ceremony.  The difference is that rather than being a legally binding ceremony, it is simply a public affirmation of a couple’s commitment to one another.

The decision to commit to each other is a memorable time in a couple’s relationship and celebrating this union with a ceremony is a beautiful way to share this decision.

Commitment Ceremonies are a bond of love between two people.

Unfortunately it is not currently possible in Australia for a same sex couple to be legally married.  Nevertheless such restrictions do not apply to commitment ceremonies, which allow people to express their love no matter what their sexual orientation may be.

Some couples decide to celebrate this commitment with a simple private ceremony while others choose to have a large celebration with family and friends.  However you decide to celebrate your commitment it will be a special moment in your life, the perfect moment to make a public declaration of the life-long commitment between you and your partner and I will make sure your event is perfect for you both.

As a celebrant I provide caring and thoughtful service to those that wish to celebrate their commitment to each other.
